Who is Melissa Dolphin-Rowland?

Melissa Dolphin-RowlandMelissa Dolphin-Rowland MBPsS is the founder of Family Matters Mediation. She is an accredited Family and Divorce Mediator with the South African Association of Mediators (SAAM) and her practice is based in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg. She is also a chartered graduate member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS). Her caring disposition, interpersonal skills and experience, make her a highly effective family mediator.

Born and bred in Leicestershire, England, Melissa moved to South Africa in 2009. She has extensive experience working with people across a range of social care, counselling and family mediation settings. She has an Honours degree in Psychology and a BA degree in Counselling Psychology, which she obtained Cum Laude from the University of South Africa (UNISA). In 2012 Melissa joined the Sandton Victim Empowerment Program as a volunteer lay trauma counsellor. She counsels victims of crime by providing emotional and practical support.

In her practice, Melissa helps families through the process of separation in a manner which preserves relationships and improves the success of co-parenting. She acknowledges the need for a multi-disciplinary approach to managing separation. Consequently, she works closely with attorneys and psychologists to provide effective support  to her clients.
